Region 5 – Washington D.C.
In a collaborative, community based effort, the Color My World Project (“CMW”) repurposess crayons otherwise discarded by national chain restaurants. Teenage members of the CMW team collect the crayons and donate them to shelters, preschools and elementary schools, giving children additional artistic opportunities, while simultaneously reducing waste and assisting teachers with tight budgets. CMW raises awareness among youth of the importance of recycling and empowers youth to do something about it.
